Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri (ÇBİ) has become a member to the Business Council for Sustainable Development (SKD) which pioneers the Sustainable Development approach in the business world with its organized operations at national and international level. ÇBİ, an examplary corporation that has adopted international sustainable mining principles, strengthens its targets towards creating sustainable contributions during and after operation process with its membership to the Council.

The exports champion of Turkish mining sector, Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri, develops further its business principles oriented at increasing social and environmental benefits that center on sustainability with its membership to the Business Council for Sustainable Development. ÇBİ, aiming at participating in the projects executed by SKD at international level and contributing to development of sustainable mining in Turkey, has a target of spreading its operations at international standards on a larger platform.

Indicating that Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri operates with a sustainable mining approach, General Manager Iain Anderson said: “I believe we will develop further environmental and financial sustainability practices we have already adopted with our membership to SDK”.

Awarded with the highest success level AAA by MAC in 2012, ÇBİ holds a powerful position in the sector with its commitment to the International Finance Corporation-IFC performance standards, UN Global Compact principles and Turkish Ethics and Reputation Association principles.
