Mining wastes that do not have economic value generated by our mining activities are returned to fortify mining cavities underground.
Çayeli Bakır, which is the first facility to apply the fortification (paste fill) technique defined in the "Management of Mining Wastes, Best Techniques" manual of the European Union in Turkey in 1999, was granted the "Outstanding Achievement in Mining Practice Award" by the TMMOB in 2008 and the Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri is shown as an example with this application on various platforms.
